A Golden Touch DJ is Born

Before starting as a DJ, Bill danced professionally. Born with the gift of dance, Bill says he got into club dancing, winning a lot of dance contests back in the day. “I even appeared in a MC Hammer shoe commercial in 1990,” he adds. Raised in a musical family, Bill developed a passion for music at an early age—dancing and marching drum & bugle core in his younger days.

“When I got older, I just wanted to channel my passion for music and dance into being a DJ. I know how to engage the crowd and entertain them. I know how to create excitement and have people do fun things.” – Bill Young

The Personal Touch =
The Golden Touch

When you’re at an event, have you ever noticed how it takes just one song to get people on the dance floor, then once that song is over they wind up back in their chairs? With Bill’s “golden touch” you can be sure your guests will stay on the dancefloor for many songs in a row.

How does he do it? Simple. Bill “gets” people. Combined with this background in music and dance, he understands crowds and knows how to adapt the music to their vibe—right then, right there. Bill also does little things to “go the extra mile,” finding ways to engage with the event and everyone involved—including your other event vendors.

He also understands how spectacular lighting and professional dancefloor setup can enhance any event and affect the energy.

“People think a wedding is about a dance. If I can get a group of people in a circle with their arms around each other singing classic rock ballads or if I can get ‘older folks’ coming out to sing along to Rat Pack standards, I know I’ve done my job. It’s not always about the dance. People are there to socialize and have a good time.” – Bill Young

The Golden Touch =
The Invisible Touch

Excellence as a disc jockey requires a delicate balance. Overdoing it with the personality can alienate your guests. One of Bill’s goals is to “disappear” into your event—to remain in the background, keeping you and your guests excited—and dancing or singing—without making the event about him.
